Default excessive inappropriate philanthropy and agonists

(I have a dear friend whose father died of complication of PD ~12 yrs ago. The folloiwng was a MAJOR problem for him. He never had other negative cognitive/impulse problems. The following only profiles 3 patients, so may have no clinical significance for larger population--still, better to be aware of potential. )

Reckless generosity in Parkinson's disease
Movement Disorders, 02/02/10

Abstract O'Sullivan SS et al. – There is an increasing awareness of impulsive–compulsive phenomena in patients treated for Parkinson's disease (PD). The authors describe another, potentially related phenomenon putatively associated with the use of dopamine agonists in 3 patients with PD, characterized by excessive and inappropriate philanthropy

Default article

Hi Paula, I was able to access the abstract with the link. you might find success googling "Reckless generosity in Parkinson's disease
Sean S. O'Sullivan, MRCPI 1, Andrew H. Evans, MD 2, Niall P. Quinn, FRCP 3, Andrew D. Lawrence, PhD 4, Andrew J. Lees, "

this is an abstract of an article which appears prior to print in "Movement Disorders" Journal.
