I went to my neuro. Today seeking symptom relief and got a sales pitch for DBS instead. My meds for PD are sinemet 25/100 1 ½ tabs 4 times a day, and Azilect 1mg once a day. I also take 4 to 5 (500mg) caps of Curcumin a day plus the usual oils and vits also 2-3 bananas for potassium. I have had PD for 10 years and am mindful of meal and protein timing as well as dairy and fat
![]() My symptoms are the usual tremor, slow movement, rigidly etc etc. Lately freezing and muscle tightness between the shoulders and head aches have added to my discomfort. My meds seem to work sporadically throughout the day. When they don’t work I can still function but at a lower level. I have shortened the between dose interval from 4 hours to 3 and ½ hours with minimal success. I was expecting that adding a agonist would be helpful but was told that they wouldn’t work, stalevo did not work for me due to the comtan and that DBS was my only alternative. I am not really ready to commit to the DBS. Does anyone have any ideas, or suggestions or comments. Thanks, Geraldo PS: She did increase my sinemet from 4 doses to 5 per day. |
