MedTronic power supplies?
Can someone pls tell me "why" they have to be so big? For the life of me, I don't understand. I mean - we're only talking about millivolts and micro-amps here. I worked as an electronics technician for DOD, Hughes Aircraft, and Raytheon for many years, and I've seen nearly every type of power-supply ever made. I'm also quite familiar with their design, operation, etc, and I see absolutely no reason for DBS power supplies to be so big. I saw one "in the flesh" the other day, and I'm kind of ashamed to admit it, but it really grossed me out. I don't feel good about saying it, but I'm apparently fairly vain about my physical appearance. It's one of the few things that I still have going for me. If I had this big/gross "bulge" sticking out from my upper chest, I can't imagine how I would feel while being intimate with my lover. I also can't imagine how she would feel about it as well. I realize that if two people love each other such physical anomalies shouldn't matter, but I just don't think I could ever actually get "comfortable" with this particular abnormality. It also seems like it would actually get in the way of being very close and "physical".
So, I'm going to arrange to get my hands on the technical data on their DBS related products, and have a look see. I hope to be able to procure a couple of "working models". It's a fairly common industry practice for manufacturers to provide technical data, and sometimes actual working models, to other manufacturers and engineers/technicians for the purpose of product "development". I no longer work in industry, but I do have a few connections. Wish me luck...and I'll keep you posted.
