Default Undiagnosed fracture

As a teen (8th grade), I was being lifted up in one of those cheerleader stunts and was dropped. I fell on my tailbone and my legs were even numb for a while. Being too vain (or should I say stupid?), I didnt say anything to anybody about it. The fact is, I haven't even told the doctor to this day!

What kind of related stuff have you found, harley?

they are going to remove my dbs and do an mri to see if the encephalitis did any damage to my spinal column. doc says since my legs are .. how does one put it?....messed up, it could be due to spinal damage. i am down to two stalevo 50s a day, thats all the pd meds im on. and it doesnt do a thing for me. HOWEVER... neuronton does.

COMMON USES: This medicine is an anticonvulsant used to treat seizures associated with epilepsy. It may also be used in adults to treat nerve pain following herpes zoster infection or to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

according to rx.com

i had herpes zoster menangitis/encephalitis...

my date for seeing the neurosurgeon is nov 17, surgery to remove dbs and have mri should be within a week of the consultation.

what is weird.. i am feeling my own legs for the first time in years!

Default Wow!

You know, harley, I am being evaluated for a possible implant for a spinal stimulator for pain. And I have been told that I have spinal stenosis. Could my main dx be something other than PD?

And what about you? How do you feel about removing your DBS? Are you glad that you did it in the first place?

it looks like a strong possibility for me peg. after i got off of mirapex, i began to feel the old me mentaly coming back. now, i am so low on stalevo, i am feeling the old me physically coming back. i was also on two meds (citalopram and flexerall) that had bad interactions called seratonin syndrome which can be deadly. so, i stopped the flexerall and that makes a difference too. today, i was up most all day. had a couple hard downs, but they were 'different'.

as far as the dbs.. that was more my exes idea than mine. i thought i needed more time, but the sob..(sorry to offend) wanted me to have it, so i did. it did nothing for me. gee i wonder why. the yoyos put one of the leads in the wrong spot. after 6 years of frying some part of my brain i found out, and that was the beginning of this journey to possibly the end of a 26 year pd dxd. im not worried about removing the dbs. i am CELEBRATING

btw, i may have to change my motto

hit my spine on a tree as a kid at 8 or 9 years old swinging in an old tire (never told my parents-thought it was my fault the idiot had the rope tied wrong); ruptured 1 lumbar disc in my 20's, another in my early 30's and the third time at age 39 i herniated the last at L4-L5, bulging at L5-S1. told i have PD at age 50 and the MRI of my entire spine by the neurologist shows an old compression fracture (the tire swing), three lumbar and several cervical and thoracic discs thrown in too with degenerative discs.

at age 10 i broke my right femur just below the hip; was in a hospital bed for 5 weeks in traction, then a body cast for 7 weeks at home. three months flat on my back.......does anyone think these things have something to do with my PD?
