Default Gas-Bloating Problems

My dad has had PD for 14 yrs now, and for the past 6 mths he has been having bad bloating problems. He can eat something as small as a piece of toast and swell up immediately after. Its very painfull. He has gone to a Dr. to check to see if he was illergic to gluten, and they said he was not. We give him Ginger and it helps him burp but it doesnt work as fast as we would like it too. Does anyone know if certain medications cause this gas, or is there some other issue?

Thanks
