FDA Finds Falsification of Drug Trial Results Affecting Dozens of Companies
QUOTE “…what could be one of the most damaging drug scandals of this century. The FDA is writing to all pharmaceutical companies that have pending new drug applications to ask if they used Cetero to generate their test results. The reason: “widespread falsification” and “manipulation of equilibration samples” at the company from 2005 to 2010, the FDA says. The fallout from the Cetero scandal could affect dozens of drugs and companies… The FDA said there was “apparent manipulation of equilibration samples to meet predetermined acceptance criteria”/// END QUOTE That’s what the FDA says. I want to know what the FBI says. It would be also interesting to hear from the “corporate bio-ethicists” who have been hired by most of the medical industry to impose ethical behaviour. Asleep at the switch, or partners in crime? Read the whole article here, by Jim Edwards, Placebo Effect; BNet, CBS Interactive: http://www.bnet.com/blog/drug-busine...tag=nl.rSINGLE |

This is the highest rung of the unethical ladder (meaning it's about as low down dirty as a sponsor can get). People who volunteer for triials put their lives on the line, then only to find out some companies are fooling around with the stats (this makes smoke come out my ears!) And Bob, I guarantee you somoe ofo those companies involved knew about it. A fat fine won't slow these people down a fraction of what it would cost to put them out of business for a while (or never let them in the drug market again, depending on the depth of the deception)
We put too much faith in some people; every person involved in any of these companies' trials should file a civil suit. GRRR! Peg |
