Well, I now have a good candidate for the reason behind my PD. My father owned and operated a dry cleaners from 1972 - 1996 and used Perchloroethylene. Can you guess who was the clean up, maintenance, and all around dirty job person? Me.

Worked in a vintage clothing shop for 3 years. We would dry clean them at a local laundromat. Sometimes bulk amounts......

Allied to this article are two other potentially problematic 'occupational' hazards, one mentioned in the article itself, a passing comment about artists, and the other a question in a comment, about darkroom chemicals. I had my own darkroom for several years, and used it regularly. I also used traditional oil painting materials, including real turpentine, which is highly aromatic. Most people used the cheaper household solvent which is called white spirit in the uk. This was immediately before my first signs of PD. Hmmm.

i also did darkroom work, worked with agricultural chemicals, played football.
oh well.
