Big movements are great and do help with PD symptoms. Here is my probem though. As soon as I am distracted by something else other than thinking to make big movements, I go right back to the small movements that PD has forced me into making. I have found that I have to consciously think big movement each and every time in order for it to work. There are way too many people, cars, potholes, and other hazards to distract me.

Like walking with big strides, heel then toe, I can do it, but only when I am telling myself to.......... maybe we need it vocalized, our own special ongoing reminder.......

Why does the media pick up on the most obvious, and make such a big thing out of it?
To me this is all old news. When I'm at work, I'm in motion and on my feet all day. At home I play the piano, which requires lots of movement. My neuro is quite pleased with my continuous PT as she put it. She said keep moving and keep the muscles active. Sitting around does nothing for us physically as well as mentally, which I've found is when I tend to "think" too hard on the wrong things, and undo my positive outlook. John
