Has anyone heard of this? Looks like they have taken research and formed an exercise regime just to address the unique needs of PWP...here is a blurb from their blog: Neurofit Networks
Sounds promising or maybe as an adjunct to LSVT Big therapy, but my doctors have yet to even tell me how important exercise is let alone recommend PD specific programs.... PWR! Academy courses train clinicians and fitness professionals in how to implement exercise and enrichment programs that target the multiple areas of PD-specific deficits in motor/cognitive/emotional functioning. PWR! experts learn about all the research that offers promise to delay disease onset, slow disease progression, restore motor function, and increase longevity and quality of life. PWR! clinician experts learn how to make sure their 1:1 programs adhere to the essential Exercise4Brainchange principles (specificity, intensity, complexity, saliency) shown to promote learning, plasticity, and brain repair. PWR! fitness experts learn how to take their own areas of specialty (Tai Chi, Yoga, Pilates, Dance, etc) and do what they do better to help people with PD. PWR! teaches everyone the same framework (ActivationAwareness™) which takes into account the latest basic and clinical science research on neuroplasticity and learning.
