Default So when do you think "the pump" will be on the market?

Hey guys n gals, anyone have any guess as to when the pump and LCIG might be on the market? Abbott indicated the application may be somewhere near the end of the year, well it's pretty close to that time. Just hoping it comes along soon.

https://www.evergreenhealth.com/for_...nical_trials1/

since i live nearby i keep an eye on pd trials there and it says they are still recruiting for phase3 pump trial. i'll give em a call and ask what they know. i'm curious if i qualified.

when you click on the trial it says closed.

i guess the FDA is evaluating the trial results right now but don't know when they will make their decision. you have to have very poor response to meds to have qualified for the trial and i couldn't have qualified.

Default imho don't see........

how "the pump" could be an improvement over oral dosing, unless you are so bad that you cant take your dopa orallly when YOU feel like you need to. i dont want to ever get that far, uh-uh,

when i talked to the study coordinator, she said they were possibly going to start a new trial with the pump and asked me 3 questions:
1. when was i diagnosed
2. did i have dyskinesias
3. how long were my off period

so i assume the pump addresses patients where drugs are no longer effective and/or have major side affects and possibly where DBS is not an option. they stick a tube in your small intestine which is pretty drastic and you've got the continuous possibility of infection and equipment malfunction, the expense of the gel packets, equipment, professional monitoring so i assume anyone willing to use the pump has exhausted all options as has someone getting a dbs.

so i wouldn't have qualified.
