Default Insulin and Its Metabolic Effects.

Here's an interesting article that blames sugar for just about any degenerative disease.

Insulin and Its Metabolic Effects.

I also have heard weird reactions to yeast but not all the time. You were smart to have it checked out.

I did read that PWP are more likely to develop diabetes but has to do with chronic use of levodopa. It is recommended that we get our glucose tolerance tested once a year. Apparently, untreated diabetes, ulcer, under active thyroid, and gluten intolerance makes our medication less effective and we get more symptomatic.

I did have two borderline blood glucose tolerance tests prior to my diagnosis but got it under control through diet and exercise.

Hi,
Sorry, I missed the connection between levodopa and diabetes. I am not on meds yet.. I am trying different alternative therapies while my symptoms are still raw so I can decide what I want to stick with. The diet for me has been huge. Cutting out gluten and casein made my muscles feel less tight and reduced my tremors. It also helped with insomnia and anxiety.
I don't just fill up on gluten-free snacks, I really try to eat a ton of veggies and fruits and I just started with the bone broth.
I believe any doctor can give you a gluten/casein test. I think it's the IGg IGa antibody test. At the time of my test i was seeing a Natruopath and an Acupuncturist and both told me that for some reason the regular lab tests can have false negatives and that they have about a 45% accuracy rate. i never investigated this, so I'm not sure whatvthe reasoning was. they both recommended a lab called Cyrex, and so i used them. I got the kit and took it to a regular lab. I had to pay for it up front, it was $800. I submitted the insurance bill on my own and was fully reimbursed.
The test was extremely comprehensive. 3 pages of info. It showed if the intolerance is actually celiac or not by the amount of villi damage. It listed many Possible allergy items...wheat, barley, spelt, quinoa, rice, corn, potato, oats, sorghum, different milk proteins, chocolate, coffee...and other items. I'm really happy I took the test because now I know what items I really cannot eat. Food can be powerful and may cause autoimmune problems. Like I said before, it's not a cure all but definitely makes me feel better!
