I just finished watching this trailor and thought it was hilarious! Michael J. Fox plays a family man with Parkinson's (how appropriate). I can relate to every move he makes - or doesnt make. LOL There was one scene where he is broadcasting the news, and his chair keeps slowly moving until his face goes totally off screen. Then he peeps around the corner, and continues the news never missing a beat while moving his chair back on screen. The laast time I went for my 6-month eye check-up, the doctor ordered a field. That's when you go into a dark room and put your chin in a little dip, then you stare at the center and click with a hand-held device every time you see a flash of light. It was a small room, and the technologist set me up, then tooka seat behind me facing the opposite wall. I was so off that I could barely hold the clickeeer. I guess it was the multi-tasking that did it, but my chair rolled slowly across the room whilllle my head stayed glued to the big light. I will never forget the look on that girl's face when she turned around and my rear end was adjacent to her. LOL Sometimes things like that are funnt, and sometimes not I believe the show willl be refreshing. This fall, NBC at 9:30 PM EST Peg |

Fox defends new show on Twitter Michael J Fox has taken to Twitter to defend his new TV show, insisting he isn't mocking Parkinson's disease, simply having a sense of humour about his condition. The Michael J Fox Show stars the 51-year-old actor - who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991 - as a TV news presenter with the condition. A trailer for the series has just aired in the US. Michael wrote on Twitter: "You got it. Not making fun of myself, or pd or other people with pd or Parkinson's itself. Just showing a guy who looks at life with humour. "Btw that wasn't an angry you got it was a thanks for getting it you got it and. 99.9 per cent of you get it. Thanks!" The show is Michael's first starring role since he quit Spin City in 2001. He is also a producer on the project and admitted he has based it on his own life and family. Breaking Bad's Betsy Brandt, who plays his on-screen wife, told reporters at a promotional press conference for the show: "I think he's one of the funniest people on TV ever - such a gifted actor and also such a great guy. There are not enough good things to say about him." http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/en...-29280693.html My opinion: It’s a sit-com, folks. No, he does not show how severe the disease gets – there is time enough for that for all of us with Parkinson’s. No, he is not mocking People with Parkinson’s. It’s a sit-com. And it will be seen by millions of people and go into re-runs around the world. This is the best thing he could possibly do for Parkinson’s. It will have a huge impact on public acceptance and awareness of Parkinson’s. There are two things that open doors and get to people’s hearts, much faster and deeper than politics or education or advocacy. Those two things are beauty and humour. Michael J. Fox understands them both. He is opening doors that cannot be shut again. “There are not enough good things to say about him." I second the motion. |

MJF is using his celebrity, talent and intellect to bring together the best folks on the planet to try to do something about PD - and he makes me (us) laugh while doing it. Looks like he's got all the medicinal bases covered. We are flat out lucky to have him.
Can't wait for the new season to start to get my weekly dose!
