You can view the trailer of Dave Iverson’s most recent project, the documentary Capturing Grace. If you haven’t seen Iverson’s other PBS documentary My Father, My Brother and Me, I recommend it.
The Brooklyn Parkinson’s Group is featured in his latest work. Brooklyn is close to heart; my parents were both from there. And as my mother use to say when things got tough “don’t mess with me I’m from Brooklyn,” I likewise say to Parkinson’s “don’t mess with me, I Dance for Parkinson’s like the Brooklyn Group! http://www.kikim.com/xml/projects.php?projectId=82 |

That was great, thanks. Is the full documentary going to be shown on PBS also?
As I was born in Brooklyn, I can tell you your mother was absolutely right!!! Best, Gary |

Gary, I believe PBS is supporting this project by Dave Iverson but I don’t know if it will be broadcast on Frontline like “My Father, My Brother and Me” was. Here is a link to the Kickstarter webpage for “Capturing Grace” which has updates on the project by Dave Iverson. The documentary is about the public dance performance the Brooklyn Group gave on November 11, 2012. Now about Brooklyn, could you also be a Mets fan? I think there are only three here in Connecticut. I feel I must keep up the tradition in my grandfather’s honor! I have fond memories of playing stoop ball with the neighborhood kids, walking down Nostrand Ave. going in and out of shops with my grandmother. And then there is Ebinger’s bakery, loved the Parker House and hard rolls. But the best was the Blackout cake. My mother would take orders from our neighbors and bring home Blackout cakes for them! Dave also does a lot of work for MJFF. You can see his series of webcasts, "The Parkinson's Minute," on the MJFF YouTube page (scroll down a bit).
He also has begun to moderate the MJFF Research Roundtables that are held around the country. I serve with Dave on the MJFF Patient Council; he's talented, knowledgeable, and humble! A good guy to have on our team!
