Default Dr Terry Wahl & the paleo diet

Has anyone tried the paleo diet which apparently had such a beneficial effect on Dr. Wahl's MS? If so, for how long, and to what outcome? Thanks.

Jon

havent tried it but watched Dr. David Perlmutter on PBS and he says pretty much the same thing, so maybe there is something to it. My question is; I am already on c/l-dopa and protein interferes with its' absorption, so how does one do these high protein, low carb, high fat diets? the fats slow down the gut and mine is already too slow. Plus there is a narrow window in the dose interval in which one can eat anything. Any ideas?

I've tried Dr. Wahl's diet and feel that it makes a difference, mainly that my meds work a little better. However, I find it extremely hard to stick to. I think if I told most people what a restricted diet I was on, they'd never ask me over for a meal again! And even at home I get quite the cravings for all the things you're not supposed to have, like dairy, wheat. And then there's the problem of losing weight - the last thing I need!

It's also hard to eat that many vegetables - I end up putting them in the food processor and then eating them as mush because it's faster. After Christmas, I'm going to try really hard to follow the whole plan for at least a week and see what happens.

On Dr. Wahl's own website a couple of people have written in and said their PD was helped by the Wahl diet. In fact, people with anything and everything have writte in to say it helped (?).

hello

I am doing the Paleo diet since 2 months 1/2,and as it's quite a lot of veggies to chew,i am juicing most of them ...my condition has really improved a lot , as i am able to be med free (sinemet ) 1 day every week...the reading of Norman Walker book about fresh vegetable and fruit juices was a revelation...
for those who speak french i would highly recommend the vids of vivrecru.org (they have a youtube channel ).
I am trying to eat raw food as much as possible.
it seems that PD,and other neuro diseases ,are consequences of a problem, which begins in the bowels.
As some of you may know i am on a Nicotine patch protocol since 3 years ,which is giving me very good improvements too .

for those interested in juicing, you need to juice fruits and veggies yourself.Canned & bottled juices have no interest,as their vitamins & nutriments are no longer there.
