Question Any treatments for Weakness, Drooling, Ptosis? Thanks!

Hi,

My mother is turning 77 today. Approximately 10 years ago, she was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.

At the onset, she had tremors, which is typical for PD patients. She received the usual Levidopa/Carbidopa treatments.

During this time, she also received acupuncture treatment which she no longer receives. I'm not sure if it was the acupuncture or the PD medicine, or a combination of both, but now she no longer has any tremors what-so-ever to my amazement.

However, she has a new problem: ptosis. She can't open her eyes -- and this condition is worse especially in the morning and evenings! In addition, she gets tired very easily and needs to lie down. She also recently has started to drool a lot -- it seems as if she is losing control of the muscles on her face. This doesn't seem to be a symptom of PD itself, so I was wondering if there was any other condition I should look into?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Regards,
Karen

Karen,

Welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry that no one has replied to you: that's not a lack of interest but, rather, a lack of answers.

All I can say is that I began drooling about 8 years after the PD diagnosis.

Please don't be put off raising more questions or voicing your opinions.

John

Default Vitamin D3

Vitamin D3 has had the most benefit for me of all the things I have tried. It stopped my drooling, improved my balance by 90& and virtually eliminated my severe muscular contraction in my right arm. I would try at least 5,000 iu a day with vitamin k2, they work synergistically. If you need more info on D3 I will be glad to help. Just google "Parkinson's and neurology" and you see the science behind D3 and brain function.
