Default evening loss of energy

Hi,
Im 67 and pretty good shape until last october i started having myoclonic jerks. Some say here there not uncommon with PD.I get up aroud 5 am and try not to nap so Ill sleep better.I now take 2 25/100 every 4 to 5 hours.Early day i feel great unless I sit for awhile ,then I get stiff and lose momentum.Later after dinner Im losing ambition as my body wants rest.I wonder if I need more sinemet, more gives more jerks sometimes ,very unpredictable.I would like to take azilect but havnt been able to get a scripe for it,would that give me my vitality back like last summer.
Thanks for listening.
Any ideas
John

addlng a sinemet cr 25/100 at bedtime was a lifechanger for sleep with me. I was waking every 2 hours with severe hip pain, now I sleep from 9pm to 5am pretty regular. my mood at work is better with better sleep, but the "mild cognitive impairment" is still an issue.

so your're saying your're ok physically but not "mentally" in the evening? not exactly sure what "Im losing ambition as my body wants rest" means. i experience mental fatigue in the early afternoon but am ok physically. like you, i'm only on carbidopa/levodopa. haven't found a solution for that problem, azilect didn't help me - neuro provided samples nor did amantadine.

have you tried comtan?

John,

Your routine pretty matches mine. How are your sleep habits?

I am not sleeping enough hours at night. Nighttime sinemet & comtan helped, and if I wake up middle of the night one 25/100 Sinemet to help release muscles (dystonia) helps.

Davis Phinney has a good video/presentation on sleep habits.

Exercise does help me. Today is first 100F day, with humidity heat index at 110. Not sure how long I'll ride the bike this afternoon.
