Welcome to neuro talk. You should be able to find some good support and information here.

Some people find it better to take a smaller amount of the medication more often. Right now I'm taking one and one third tabs of levodopa/carbidopa 100/25 every three hours plus one and a third tabs of Mirapex three times a day. One third tab isn't how they come or are designed to be split but my neuro (a movement disorder specialist) is happy that I custom design my meds for what works the best for me.

I'm 63 and have been dealing with PD since around1999.

My best advice is stay well hydrated, control any constipation, get enough sleep somehow or another, and EXERCISE, EXERCISE, EXERCISE.

I think it sounds like you're under medicated.
You've had P.D. 8 yrs now and thats a bit much expecting you to go from 4.30pm till morning meds unmedicated.
Perhaps you could try adding another levodopa tab of an evening so your body can rest better then see how that goes and then report back to neuro your result.
Wendy gave excellent advice. The adding on of small amts are what I've been doing in recent yrs too with a fairly good outcome.
Best wishes.

Sounds like everyone I talk with is on different meds....How does the neuro find the best meds for you.......trail and error?.....took a half C/L last night....better night than I've had for awhile....Is it true the more C/L you take the faster the drugs stop working?......I'm on ER50/200 your on 25/100.....do you take supplements...I'm taking coconut oil, ubiquinol and using vibroswing system....
