bladder prolapse.

do the kegels. be consistent with doing them.

as much as you probably hate the thought...don't use tampons while you are strengthening those muscles.

also watch your diet so you don't get constipated. you don't want any added pressure on the pelvic floor. when you "push" be sure to use the right muscles.

i ran a chain of all ladies health clubs for years. plus with my education..i have a lot of experience in helping woman.

if the kegels don't work, the surgery is a bladder tack. it pulls the bladder back up and tightens the muscles to hold it in place.

this is more common than you think. it happens to many women after having a hysterectomy or childbirth.

pm me if you want. i know this subject can be embarrassing. heck..i owe you a pm...but my recent move has taken the wind out of me.

Terri-the bladder surgery is definitely common...in this last month our small hospital has done half a dozen...again-this is a SMALL hospital, so half a dozen is huge! Thanks for sharing your experience and hope the rest of your week is better
Robert-thanks for your comments, and good luck to you and jean with the patch!
Steff thanks-as much as I hate the stuff, cranberry juice has become my friend over the past few months, along with the capsules. I did see my doc today and he said there's a TINY bit of infection left, but no blood...he also brought up the fact pd might be affecting the bladder. Hallelujah...not that I want that to happen, but tha tmy doc is privy to more than the cardinal pd symptoms. God bless him. So am on a 10day course of sulfa drug to kick out the last of infection and he also gave me a trial of detrol for the spasms.
I truly think though this is part of my progression, as my bladder does not seeem to empty out as completely as it should.
What a wonderfuul merry go round....

Default While it is calming down

While your bladder is calming down be careful what you eat and drink.Just think what would I not put on something that was a bit raw. Here in U.K our water has chlorine in it so if I have had a bad bout I drink only bottled water for a while.Unfortunately,I am an expert on bladder complaints.

Default Fear not little chickens...

Leaky bladder problems plague both sexes as Robert pointed out, and as far as I know, and is no more connected exclusivly to PD as is putting your shoes on the wrong feet. Many women need a few little internal stitches to hold all their internal apparatus in place. I have known at least two friends who had to have "bladder repair work". It pretty much comes with the territory for women who have had more than three children.

As for tampons, you could try a different brand as they (the companies that design them)have come up with some creative designs. I'm reminded of a birthday card I once saw: The caption on the front said "remember the days when we used to let it all hang out? Inside: Now we're busy trying to stuff it all back in!" Good Luck
