I WAS going to title this "quivery lips" but thought, nah...that might not look very serious...
Anyhoo...am wondering if anyone else has facial tremor. I get it around my mouth mainly; especially if I make the same motion repeatedly (like whistling or kissing) my mouth feels cramped up and tremors a bit. It ends up eventually going away, but it's been getting more prevalent as time goes by...

Sorry I am late in responding to this Steph.I have been dealing with my own demons for a few days but anyhow...wanted to say I hope you are feeling much ,much better and that the infection you had has well and truly gone.

Facial tremor? I have noticed this sometimes in myself.Not a major concern for me as yet but I do know how self conscious it could make you feel.Do you notice it at any particular time ie. when you are tired,or in a stressful situation [although kissing would negate that theory ! lol] Then again it depends who you are kissing Brad Pitt...I`d say no problem.

But...back to serious...I think you are on to something when you say your mouth feels clamped .I find that when I focus on this,I realise I am holding my jaw really tightly.It happens without you realising,and if you are anything like me [which I expect you are glad you are not lol] your jaw has probably been tense for a while,then the quivering starts.
I try to be aware what is happening muscle wise...and then do something about it. If you allow your chin to drop towards your chest...lower your head slightly,this helps to release the tension.This was a tip I picked up from a magazine article relating to tension in the head and neck when driving.
Strangely enough this small adjustment for a few minutes,releases the jaw and the tension should disappear,and then hopefully the tremor in the mouth will ease too.

I had a period where my right jaw, lips, eye, and neck muscels would tremor. I know the cramped feeling around the mouth your talking about. As it turned out I was getting too much Sinemet. My MDS cut back the amount of Sinemet I was taking and these problems went away. As we are all different, talk to your doctor. It may be too much Sinemet or maybe a timing issue.

Hey Steff, the infection is slowly clearning up, today is the first day in a few weeks I have felt "normal"...whatever that is. THanks for your response...it usually happens if that area is "tired", per se...I notice my jaw all tight, clenched, and have to conciously relax it, then, yes my mouth area tremors. Not sure if that's stress or what! Have never had to be so in tune to my body before getting this disease. Thanks for your response!

i have tremors. my tremors occur when i use a muscle, so they are not the typical parkimson resting tremor. they are sometimes called initial tremors, because they happen when movement is initiated.
my pd symptoms are still mostly confined to my left siide except my facial muscles, like if i smile on the right side it will tremor although not as bad as the left side. people notice it. also if i'm outside, which i am alot, when i squint in the sunshne my cheeks and brows quiver. it is a pain in the face.
worse than that is my tongue, which seems to be affected all the time. i suspect this contributes to sometimes choking and difficulty forming words with the ease that i used to.
the list of ways that pd is affecting me keeps changing and growing some . i dont like it.

I have exactly the same issue although I don't have PD, I do have essential tremor though.

I have this movement tremor in over my body, but it's really annoying and disturbing me around my face muscles (when laughing, etc...).

I'm using Propranolol and Primidone for the essential tremor (sometimes I'll add a benzo) but that doesn't really help too much with the facial tremors

I have facial tremors when I make odd faces with my mouth. I am currently on the lowest dose of Wellbutrin and coming off. I also have the shaking in my hands too. Can facial tremors be essential tremors? I am worried..I went to my GP and he wasn't concerned. He thought it is anxiety or my medication.
Please let me know.
