Dose level is as important as the drug! There are many examples. Warfarin is a rat poison in high dose, but is used as a human drug in low dose.
A glass of whisky is very nice, but drink the bottle and it will kill you. Even salt in high dosage will kill, but is essential in low dose.
I wonder what dosage has been used in cases where gambling etc raises its head? It may be possible to establish a safe threshold.

I agree there must be a dosing issue, and it must be individual because at the max, I took 2 mg per day, and I've never even thought of gambling (I'm too stingy to part with the $ for a lottery ticket), or other obsessive compulsive actions.

I wonder too if this has more to do with people that take it because of Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) instead of for Parkinson's. The people with just RLS don't have a dopamine deficiency problem like us so are therefore more susceptible to these kind of side-effects.

Default I agree with Jcitron ...
and feel that the dosage versus individual physiology is more complex.

I know our brains are all roughly the same but surely our body mass differs widely and this must affect drug absorption. I am 6ft 1 inches tall, weigh 215 pounds, (all muscle of course !! ), surely my reaction to 1mg of Mirapex is different to that of a 5 foot, 120 pound female.

I mentioned this to my Neuro some time ago and he said he hadn't really considered it.

Am I right or wrong in this belief that "body mass" affects PD drug absorption and distribution ?
