Unless it has to do with emotions and /or early environment or brain chemicals, or brain waves.... fun to speculate.

I know that we see the same color differently, just as people's taste buds don't react exactly like other people's taste buds to the taste of foods.

I just always thought that most men favoured Blue as a color. Starting with the differential baby clothes colors for each sex. If that's true then that would load the stats a bit.

Fun, this - none of the men in my family in Denmark or in the US, close relatives as well as in-laws are partial to blue. Green is by far the winner, then yellow and brown, grey and even beige and black. Not one blue among them.
The three grandsons who are old enough to say what color they like best, all three chose purple and yellow without being influenced by each other. Maybe the men in my family are different........ my husband is an artist, he likes green and yellow best, my brother was an accountant, his preference was grey and beige.... rather telling!!

birte, i think you onto something. family does have an influence.

my mother always told me i looked bad in a certain color. i never wore it. didn't decorate with it.

it was a firend who had me try on a dress in that color. it was actually a perfect color for me. i have loved it ever since.

Default Blood Red

Wasn't there a famous line in a Clint Eastwood cop movie.
(Coogan's Bluff I think)

He asked someone what color was "sympathy"
He answered himself that it was red!!

What absolute rubbish we remember and yet really useful stuff just slips away ......

Default Relaxation

When really relaxed, eyes closed, I see a purple light - but my favorite color is kind of a greyed blue green - like teal, but calmer.

I cannot recall anything relaxing me more than Reflexology does.
Massage relaxes me but not as much as Reflexology and with no colors at all when my eyes are closed.
