Default A harsh read, but clarifying in some ways

This seems relentlessly negative, but ultimately speaks towards regeneration of many things - for me kind of puts its finger on our times in a clear way, and urges us to develop positive solutions...

wonder what anyone thinks of this...

Default pierce the corporate veil

So long as people buy the legal fiction that the proper documents free powerful men from the responsibility of their actions we're screwed. It's going to have to get so ugly out there that the heat from the angry overcomes the money in government. It may be starting now or it may be centuries.

The big corps have become the pirates of today. With no geographical base they sail into view, loot the village, and sail away.

Default how about prison time?

Personally, I'm for prison time. I'd love to see a drug company employment manual that includes a nice lengthy provision (just above the signature line), advising that reckless or negligent actions or decisions resulting in adverse health affects would result in "the maximum penalty available under the law, including but not limited to incarceration and/or fines".

Not to be pollyanna here, but to counter the negative tone of Fiona's link, I think we all need to remember just how huge the organic and nutraceutical movement has become, and only growing larger. Also organics and local farmer's markets. Thank heavens for the internet, so that people can learn of all these good things on a massive scale (also to learn of the dangers of Rx drugs, doctors, and our healthcare system in general). Can you imagine what we'd be like as a society if the billions spent annually on drug advertising were instead spent on advertising for organic and local food, vitamins, minerals, and supplements? OMG, it'd almost be heaven on earth.

dear lurking,
yeah, I am so with you on that one. I think it is SO important to be able to imagine positive solutions to all these problems, and keep these positive images of what could be the most prominent in our minds. ANd yes, hurray for the internet - possibly the seeds of real democracy??

An excellent straight forward read. Time for a revolution to end all this nonsense. Whoops, did I say that. Sick and tired from being sick and tired.
