It's once again Monday morning and I checked to see if we had a check in post. See Steve, there is hope in the Universe! I'm not planning to do this on a regular basis...but for this week I'll pick up the mantle.
I never know who's new or who's just changed their name, and I'm not always on the ball with regards to whatzup, and I'm not always as nice as Steve (or as good looking) but it looks like I'm the bergermeister for this week. (Did I mention I'm not an ace at spelling either) Well, the weather sucks where I am, I still have PD and life goes on. If your reading this and your new here take a moment to introduce yourself. We sincerely hope you find something here worth your time (or your dime). If your not new to this forum, and have some issue you'd like to address be my guest. This could also be considered the "lost and found" thread. If you are lost, or have found anything of value recently (like a few missing persons) please post. That's it for me. Oh yes....I did commit and bought myself a new Mac! I love it. It's soooo user friendly. Of course I'm going to have to boil shoe leather to make soup as I've pretty much blown the budget (there was a budget?). "Budget" is not a term I'm completely reconciled to.

Im having such a good day that I was three hours late for my morning meds, and didnt realize it..My outboard motor finally got fixed this morning, and I can finally start fishing..There were a couple of things going on with it which made it hard to dx the problem..Come to find out the thermostat was no good in addition to what was originally wrong with it..Then I came home and found out the stocks I bought a couple of weeks ago were up $6.00 and change, so I cashed in..I almost fell out of my chair when I turned on the computer Some pharma co I invested in is having great results in Phase III trials with a new MS drug, Fampridine-SR, that helps you walk better, so the stock shot up this morning Bu bu bu Booooooooooyaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! Wednesday Im taking my brother for his first colonoscopy..He seems worried about the procedure because he doesnt really understand it..He will soon find out the worst part is drinking the half gallon of that God awful whatever it is Great week so far..It sure snapped me out of the funk I was in

Steve, that's not a very good likeness of you. And where'd ya get the tie?
Three cheers for the faire rosebud, who is charge d'affaires of this thread for the week. She's everyone's buddy! My issue today is being late. I simply do not understand clocks any more. Hubby is out all day and I have to get myself to three physical therapy appointments and a doc visit this week. So far I miscalculated the first PT appointment and stepped out of the shower 15 minutes after i was supposed to be there. A frantic phone call followed, and they saw me at 2:30 instead. So now the day is half gone and all I've done is be late and work out in the therapy pool. I have to believe that's not bad, for where I am. You're doing a great job, rosebud. Jaye |

Great day in Southern Ohio-high of 82, not too sunny. Recently returned from a visit to my mother's in Louisiana and developed an upper respiratory infection which I attribute to the plane rides (could not possibly be due to the large # of petrochemical factories in that area)--maybe it is related to the "small fire" that occurred on the plane we boarded for the last leg of the trip to La.(you can't get to my mother's area from Ohio--not easily anyway). Fortunately we had not taken off yet. Everyone exited the plane safely. The return trip was uneventful, thank goodness, though I was still anxiety ridden from the first part of the journey. In the past, I reasoned that it was safer to fly with one of the very small airline cos who operate old propellar equipment than to drive Interstate 10 from Houston to La. I am not so certain any longer. Though am betting a drive btn these 2 areas surrounded by 18 wheelers traveling at interstate speeds and above will provide incentive to risk the small airline again. For future consideration.
Thanks, Rosebud for initiating the check in topic. madelyn

Thank you, Rosebud for starting the topic. Maybe we should all take the gauntlet once a week or a month and handle the job. This way we can all pitch in to keep the weekly lost-and-found/check-in thread going.
Anyway, This week will bring me back to school and work full-time. I had pretty much half of May off with vacation. I my trip to the mid-central states was interesting with travel through this gorgeous, but very poverty stricken section of our country. I witnessed only a few storms, which was the intent of the trip, but I got to see the Rocky Mountains, attend a Rockies game, and visit the Oklahoma City Memorial instead. If anyone hasn't visited the memorial and has the opportunity to do so, by all means please do. It is a very beautiful, but spartan memorial dedicated to those people that died on that horrific day. I could feel the sadness in the place that I can't describe. Madelyn - I'm with you on flying. That was the worst part of my trip - particuarly the going part. First I haven't flown in 20 years until May 8th so that was quite the shocker of all. The overall meaness of the TSA staff (sorry if this offends anyone who has family working for the TSA), the rudeness of the airline staff, and the ungodly walk from terminal C to terminal F at O'Hare which I had to do in under 15 minutes because there was a delay leaving Boston. By the tme I reached terminal F, my feet had frozen and my arms had stopped swinging. I was the walking like a robot from mars. I ended up with spasms in both feet that night and I was wicked stiff the next day. It took 3 pills before I became "normal" again. Last Friday I went for a sleep study to find out why I don't get much of it. Well I told them I twitched and moved all night and they didn't believe me until they saw it on the video. To add insult to injury, the room was like a freezer due to a broken air-conditioner, and I ended up with dystonia spasms in my left foot. All in all I got about 2 hours sleep if I was lucky. I had wires stuck on my face, legs, arms and chest along with plugs up my nose and a flat thermal-couple under my nose which kept sliding into my mouth when I yawned. The junction box for all the wires was strapped to my chest, and that darn thing kept poking me in the ribs. I don't have much meat on the bones so this stupid thing kept jabbing me when I breathed. When I left Saturday morning, both sides of my face were tight, my hands were tight, and I had the tremor really bad on my right side. I ended up sleeping all day Saturday, and by Sunday I was back to normal sleep wise, but still tremulous. I'll be honest, I am not looking forward to starting back into the school work again. I have nine more classes, but my heart isn't into it. I can't explain how much I hate it. The subject matter is interesting, but I no longer have any use for it. As far as I'm concerned, any career that I planned is over now. The thing is I can't quit otherwise I'll lose my tuition coverage from Uncle Sam, so I have to stick it out the best I can. I just keep telling myself that there are one nine of these suckers left to kill off. Overall I'm looking forward to my next vacation. I go storm chasing again June 20th through June 30th. This time out of Denver and possibly into Canada. The only part I don't look forward to is the flight. Steve - I'm glad to see you in high spirits. Good luck to all, and I hope y'all have a great week. John |

I went out to lunch with a few friends, then came home and set up camp in front of CNN to watch the commentary, and speeches after the primaries...and the countdown to the number of delegates Obama required to cross the finish line.. So I guess this is history.
Thanks for all the kind words and appreciation for the thread. It was my pleasure. Next week someone else can take a shot at it. Does anyone else get a runny nose when their meds are off? I have noticed it a lot latley and I'm wondering if I maybe have a food allergy. Or maybe its just hayfever. Just thought i'd ask. cheers and goodnite
