I have been seeing a chiropractor for two years since my pd dx. He has helped my ridgidity immensely. For my posture which was getting much more pronounced, he reccomended a device called the" posture pump". (You can google it) I have been using it fo the last 6 mos. At first 2x a day for the first month or so. Now i use it twice a week. My posture is improved and less aches and pains.

In his post on this tread, Steve says PD causes poor posture. I 'll go way far out on the limb here and say that I think it's the other way around!!!! Yep, poor posture causes PD! Of course not everyone w/ poor posture gets pd so there are obviously other factors - genes, toxins, pesticides, etc. However, I do think that the stress load on the body caused by injuries, malalignments , etc are a foundational cause of PD. COntinual internal stress depletes dopamine supply and when that happens, the cycle worsens. ANy type of effective body work can help to lighten the load. CHiro, massage, PT, exercises, alexander, rolfing, osteopathic, shiatsu, etc can help. We really are on our own here as what helps one may not help another. Neuros don't even acknowledge that we have bodies! just sick brains for some unknown reason...Ha! It's reallly very obvious - if you just LOOK! See the recent thread on misdiagnosis and getting off Sinemet. I think we're ALL misdiagnosed! Ibby |

I had another adjustment today at 10 am this morning. I started feeling a little slow around 3:30 and took my sinemet. Call it what you want, placebo effect, black magic, a miracle or whatever I cannot argue with or deny the results that I am seeing. My usual doseage off sinemet is every 2 hrs by the way and I never have dyskinesia at that level but that's what it has taken me to get through the day.
