Protect This!
Don’t wait for the next “block-buster” study to come along to give you permission to integrate the latest neuroprotective agents into your day to day life—it may be too late.

While scientists are busy conducting bench research (controlled laboratory studies) and not talking to one another, ethnobotanists are collecting real-world data that can help your brain survive the onslaught of aging and the 21st century.

The following nine neuroprotective agents are as close as your local supermarket or quality health-food store.

Ron - thanks for this - it counts as my good news item for the week.

Do you personally have any experience with Boswellia (or anyone else out there)?

Thank you. Merry Tuesday.

Hi Fiona

my son takes Boswellin, the Boswellia plus curcumin blend by NOW Foods

we credit it with being a big factor in his current stable Crohn's Disease and it also seems to help him with his TS tics and OCD. It is, amongst other properties, a remarkable anti-inflammatory agent from what I have found in checking into it before starting him on it, and seeing the quick results ourselves

Default Boswellia

Fiona,
I have never taken Boswellia, to be honest, I had not heard of it.
A friend of mine says
"Boswellia (Boswellin) is better known to us as Frankincense, one of the gifts to Jesus and part of the incense at Church. It's a tree resin, like Gum Arabic."
I did a brief search to see if it reduced the permeability of the BBB, but could not find it's effect on the BBB.

Default hi

you are my inspiration
health wise i'm highly functional on meds. without them i have great difficulty with basic chores.
the transition from using meds as a choice to needing a steady drug regime came surprisingly quick, it was within a month and was my motivation to get involved on this board again.

socially, psychologically life is day to day as i am pretty much living alone and i have to start pursuing ss disability and just plan for greater and greater disability. not nearly the challenges you face though.
