Default totally out in left field....

Is it just me, or have any of you noticed that the little ticker things on the threads you've commented on don't seem to be there when you check the list? No,wait...I think it's me, I just remembered, I had to sign in before I could make this comment... Yes I'm losing it, whatever "it" is. I havn't been sleeping well and I can always tell. When I don't sleep I have a tendency to let my eating habits get sloppy too. This leads to more problems and pretty soon I'm not doing well at all. It's all a chain. And its stress related in many ways. It's blowing like crazy outside today and limbs are flying across the yard (tree limbs that is). I think I'll just go back to bed as I'm the only one home. It's just that kind of day. I did get my christmas tree up and decorated, so I did accomplish something. But I feel tired and when that happens ....welll its all down hill from there. At least I've checked in so you know I'm still here. Things are a little slower than usual the last few weeks as far as posts go. Once I get Christmas under my belt I'll be back more regularily and if my brain cells hold out or up or whatever I'll start a discussion thread or two. I see we have a bunch of new "emmoticons" This is still my favorite It pretty much expresses how I feel most days and in most situations. That would be today for sure ...J

This is a bittersweet week as I'm officially finished with my Master's Degree program. On one hand I'm glad I'm done, but on the other hand I'll miss my classmates and instructors. It's truly been a great experience.

Just finishing up some last minute Christmas shopping (I hate shopping), then my wife and I are headed out for some R&R at the beach for a week, so that'll be nice. Then the craziness of the holidays will ensue with lots of families and friends to visit and plenty of food that's bad for me!

Other than that, just moving forward as best as I can.

Oh, and GO SABRES!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Red face Congrats, todd!!

When I finished my masters, I felt the same way you do! And then I remember the wonderment of TIME. I had so much TIME at my disposal that I had not had when i was taking classes. At first I didn't know what to do with myself.

Paula, thank you for your good wishes. You never recover from a loss like that. My mom, dad, and I are each scarred in our own unique ways... and back in the olden days when this happened - 1965 - there weren't grief counselors available to us.

Good luck with your project.

Well, today was one of the best I can remember in a long time. The reason? I found out today that my SSDI was finally approved, and on the very first try!

This came in very handy as my short term disability ran out some time back and we had just about ran through what money we had in the bank. It was looking like a bleak Christmas till today. Now it's the best present I could have asked for!

Congrats Carolyn on the Birthday...I also just celebrated my 48th Birthday on the 5th last week.

On the depressing side of things, I was taking a shower last week and my left leg spasmed and caused me to fall out of the tub entirely. On the way down I pulled down the curtain and a towel rack. I ended up on the floor on my back with my head hitting the bathroom door. Ouch! Didn't break anything thank God, but was bruised up very badly and stove up for about 5 days.

Ray

Rosebud:

We've got the same storm system down here in Bellingham, and it has been nasty. I had to go out to look at a marina project we had designed and was having some problems. I took a little hand wind gauge out to the shore facing SW, and measured a 1-minute average of between 40 and 45 mph, and gusts to past 65 mph (that is as high as the gauge will go). That is the sort of stuff that you really have to lean into, and that leads to seagulls not being able to get out of the way of the car because they can't fly fast enough against the headwind - flapping like mad and still losing ground. Kind of like the human condition, eh?

CONGRATS Ray!!

It is interesting isn't it how long some states take to hand out an award, while others take a judge and an attorney. My process in NYS was one month, and that was only because they wanted me to have a physical by a SS doctor.

I agree Carolyn. From start to finish took me almost 8 months down here in Texas. Thanks to everyone on the old braintalk forums I prepared up front with my documentation which I believe is why I got it on the first try.
