Debi,

Thank you for clarifying why 23andme currently tests only for the LRR2 mutation. I didn't mean to imply that the testing and PD research initiative was cost or profit driven. I've been reading a lot on the different PARKINs and am simply curious about the genetic link especially now that I have a young son.

I think understanding all the complex variables involved in scientific and medical research is beyond my complete grasp as a lay person; that is why this forum is invaluable. I hope that a closer look even at the SNP level will eventually yield clues for many different diseases.
