When I saw that I came out judging, i was at first reaction disappointed but soon realized it meant discerning, - a challenge from where i sit, but so interesting.

Greg D you have a great story or 3-4 of them. Plus you were in Hawaii at the time of the cows being detected, and there are a few others. Would you share for for the book? Greg D was previously 'boilerman". good guy, has been thru some heavy ____, but has a great sense of humor under it all.

It never would have been designed to be a book with all women. Rick you dance around us but i haven't a clue if you are going to do the book so I'm thinking you just aren't sure. I went to your site....can you post it again? I have asked Anne a coujple of times to reprint her manifesto and she seems to be rewriting it? can she post in book forum any sooner? it's private......they need to see it - it takes you places, we all benefit even if we don't go to the same place.

Anne what do you think? are you up for copying it to the book forum and see what you think, then make any further modifications and on to the regular forum?

If you are a teacher (as ENFJ), judging goes with it! Doesn't it?
I am surprised at how close this analysis is to personal characters of people i know. I am for sure is an ENFJ trying teach people, especially the ones I think have a good potential! There I go judging again!

I am INTJ Introverted, Intuitive, thinking, judging.
Not sure where we are going, we have as many extroverts as introverts. Always felt PWP were anxious worrying types

While confusing, it is interesting to see tha there is a pattern of I**J that seems common. It helps to, as indigogo suggested, look at the Kiersey work. It tends to reinforce the idea that we tend to be the ones who get things done within our sphere. Some would call us boring (although any woman named "harley" should challenge that ) but without us it would fall apart.

Wow. I just made a Freudian slip in the midst of a Jungian meditation - pretty cool! "Without us it would fall apart" kind of sums up a view of life I've held since childhood unconsciously.

Keirsey sorted all this out into 16 "temperaments" and the names alone are telling. The eight ending in "J" are Teacher, *Counselor, Fieldmarshal, *Mastermind, Supervisor, *Inspector, Providor, and *Protector. Anyone you know? The starred ones begin with "I"

The other eight ending in "P" are Champion, Healer, Inventor, Architect, Promoter, Crafter, Performer, and Composer.

I'm very much like Rick as well.

I was brought up to suck it up and not complain. When I was a kid, I dealt with painful surgery for a clubbed foot, ear infections, and other surgeries. My pain tolerance is up in the 25 -50 range on a scale of 1-10 that the doctors always ask about when you visit. So when I say something hurts, it's off their charts. I was told this is the old "stiff upper lip Yankee", which came from my mom's side. My dad's family are a bunch of whimps that kivetch over every little nose drip or ache.

I'm also one to push myself to be the more than the best I can be at no matter what I do. I'm entering into my Uni in September with a 3.89 GPA and was accepted into the Honors Program at the school. If I can't do something to the highest level that I can achieve, then I won't bother at all. Part of this I think is that I don't want to make an ***** out of myself in front of others.

I'm also very introverted. I never go out to social gatherings and only have a handful of friends. I enjoy my personal time away from other people and have more fun walking by myself in the woods, or working on my own little projects during my free time then I do going to family gatherings or other parties.

UPDATE:

I think the biggest difference is between the "Js" and "Ps". We have 33 -J and 9 - P. In the work environment, this is where I had the most conflict with co-workers.

Keirsey calls this the Third Ring of Temperament - Directive (J) vs. Informative (P). From Wikipedia:

The third ring distinguishes between people who primarily communicate by informing others versus people who primarily communicate by directing others. Each of the four temperaments is subdivided by this distinction for a result of eight roles.

The directive roles are Operators (directive Artisans), Administrators (directive Guardians), Mentors (directive Idealists), and Coordinators (directive Rationals). The informative roles are Entertainers (informative Artisans), Conservators (informative Guardians), Advocates (informative Idealists), and Engineers (informative Rationals).

In our group here (plus those from Rick's list that include people from PLM) we have 10 Directive Mentors; 10 Directive Coordinators;5 Directive Administrators; and 8 Directive Conservators.

Our group also contains 5 Informative Advocates, 2 Informative Engineers and 2 Informative Performers. (Actually, the 8 Conservators can also be included in the Informative group - they are classified by Keirsey as Informative, but score as an FJ)
