YAY! I love to hear stories like this (yet still in it's infancy) where this thread has become hope for someone!

Hi BoringName

Welcome .

I reckon that you are doing all the right things.

I suspect that neuropathy can be reversible, at least to some extent - I had some (with tremor as a bonus) in my hands but it has now pretty much gone.

Don't stress too much about your smoking - mine peaked as well in the early stages of quitting alcohol.

4.5 years sober (to the day)

Feeling pretty good this month...had to shovel 13" of snow that fell in about 36 hours and that was enough exercise for the month

Zoloft is working (25mg daily) and I am looking forward to the next challenge (I may, or may not, of gave up on running) but I have committed to getting back on snow skis next winter....

I can do it, and so can you!!!

Skiing again is definitely a joy to look forward too. Well done on the 4.5 years, awesome.

Cool Smirk

Congratulations Icehouse,

4.5 years is getting into the timescale where I started despising the smell of alcohol. I am in my 26th year, still counting, still look on it as an achievement

Irony is, my liver tests are coming back as those expected of one being damaged by heavy drinking

Dave.

1345 days, but I read a rather nice saying yesterday: "Don't just count days, make your days count.". Sure, it's a bit simplistic as is often the case with one-liners, but I like the idea behind it.

Also 2 years and a few days smoke free.

As for progress: I can now comfortably wear socks again. As trivial as that may sound: for the longest time socks were completely uncomfortable and caused extra pain. Which meant I sometimes must have had cold feet, which...causes pain. No longer the case. It's the small things...
