Today marks 4 years since the beginning of my sober journey. I have to admit it was also the longest year, but that is down to the fact it was the first leap year. ;). So 1461 days it is.

My feet feel a bit sore, but then again, the last 4 days, my buddy and I have been cleaning out our garage, filling a 14m3 dumpster to the brim It's amazing how much junk and clutter you can accumulate in 20 years... :eek:

Although complacency is risky, I do feel comfortable in this state, cravings truly are a thing from the past, so there is no reason (and no excuse) why I wouldn't be able to keep this up indefinitely. Which is my intention. :)

1796 days sober.

Been taking the stairs at work just for giggles (61 up and 61 down) everyday at least 3-4 times. I had gotten lazy with the elevator. Also enjoying the theater (real and outdoor) a lot more this year too, that keeps the mental stability in check :)

Cutting grass, wrenching on my 38 yr old van and chasing children has kept me busy and totally forgetting that I STILL need to re-learn to run (or even jog)!!

Who was supposed to keep me motivated on that??? :mad:

I am doing good...are you?

Excellent work Icehouse, just excellent. As for the jogging...I suppose that'll happen when you feel ready and comfortable about it? And even if that doesn't happen, remember that those 61 steps were impossible to climb in a wheelchair (or descent, for that matter...) not that long ago, let alone a couple of times a day. Compared to that, jogging just seems like a little icing on a big cake. ;)

That said, you could of course just get your butt in gear and get on with it! :D

Well done Icehouse :).

I don't have much to offer about jogging but, weather permitting, I walk briskly for about 30 minutes a day.

Good for aerobic fitness and mindfulness, just noticing the sights, sounds and smells of what I experience, helps as well.

Yeah, I could just get my butt in gear, but I am a closet procrastinator and this is not one of those things that is "top" priority. I mean, who REALLY enjoys running in the first place? HAHA

I came second in the 2016 EU Procrastination Championship as Will Tomorrow, my opponent, never bothered to show up... ;)

Running: I know some swear by it and report getting a natural high doing so. But even when I was really into sports - there was a time I played in 3 basketball teams at the same time - jogging just didn't do it for me. I got bored after 5 minuted and started to wonder about Life, the Universe, and Everything.

Swimming might be a good alternative?

Wide-O, I reckon that I could have given you a run for your money (pun intended ;)) at the Procrastination Championship.

Swimming is something that might be worth thinking about.

I swim every few weeks. I doubt that any Olympic-standard swimming folk lie awake at night worrying about me as a competitor.

However, I enjoy it and think that it helps a bit with my mild-moderate osteoarthritis.

Swimming...why did I not thing of that? I even have unlimited access to a friends pool. And there is a YMCA near my work too...

I like water...and I have an acre of grass....hmmm, install a pool?....that might attract the ladies too ;)
