PamelaJune, I thought it was Gerry that sent the stretch exercises. I just revisited the page to review and saw it was you who posted. Many thanks and I will definitely follow thru.
While I understand the need not to overdo, I have the strong need to be very proactive at this juncture and I really want to get to the gym again. I don't feel any strain in my muscles though the burning is worse today. Usually it is a progressive thing throughout the day but I woke up with it pretty intense. I don't believe that is necessarily a bad thing though. I want to believe the nerves are regenerating and they may well be since the burning got so much worse since sober.
I have read thru this entire forum several times through the years and I will do so again to see if I can gain some more insight and suggestions going forward. I hope that in reading my old posts that I don't sound like a whiny witch.
Best wishes for a pain free day.

We've just got home from our holiday, you've cracked me up with your whiny witch statement! You do what's best for you SC, if you've done gym work before you'll have it covered. I write sometimes with explanation in event someone hasn't and I worry they will over do it, but SC, I think you've got it covered with your spirit and determination. Something Gerry touched on earlier. You may not see it in yourself, but we do. Go for it, just be safe and sensible

I just spent much of the day reading this entire thread. Ugh... my posts are sooooo annoying. How do you all put up with me?

Wide-O, I did not remember that you were on meds. I may need to try the route again. What are you taking?

You must have been the only one that was annoyed....Maybe you don't realize; but you are making others feel your trust and desire to participate. That's what we do. You help us more than you realize.

Welcome home safely Pam.. Hope you and DB enjoyed celebrating your 25th as well as the warm weather. I know Australia can be pretty cool at this time of year so going to warmer ground, even if only for a short time, was definitely a plus.

Now who did the laser therapy? Was that PamelaJune or Gerry? How did that work out for you?
I just was shopping for an acupuncturist. I wondered how much they cost. I see one advertising for $85 and min of 6 sessions are needed. That is not in my budget just now but when I quit smoking maybe.

I think maybe you meant me? I had a few months' worth of laser treatments, 3x a week. It helped put a little "spring" in my step but certainly wasn't a cure. And it was not covered by insurance and it was NOT CHEAP.

SC, don't ever say you are a bother to us! I have actually come on this site more often since you have been posting more. I sometimes just lurk and don't post, I am kind of shy that way. But I do like to keep up with everyone's progress. We all have different stories but have that one common thread.

I was having a great few weeks - I was even walking at a decent speed (no one was passing me up for once!?) - a couple times a week since the weather has been so nice. Well, then...I had a sudden and urgent craving for NACHOS. And by that I mean, just the gooey cheese sauce that Tostito's makes and puts in a jar, and the Tostito corn chips themselves. What a mistake! I overloaded on sodium BIG-time and for the past 4 days, I have been paying for it. Flaming burning feet, swollen ankles (I call them "kankles"), very poor balance (thank God for the walls along the hallways and countertops in the kitchen to latch onto), and just generally feeling like crap.

Those darn nachos. It was just one of those things I couldn't get out of my head for a couple weeks. For 20+ years now, I would go to a restaurant and order nachos, and they give you this heaping plate of chips, beef/chicken, beans, shredded (not gooey) cheese, sour cream, salsa. I wanted just the chips with just the gooey cheese and I waited for many years to have it. I used to eat them at baseball games - they would add pickled jalapenos too. I skipped those...

Stupid story, I know - but I realize now that the fresh fruit I have been eating all summer is a much better choice. And I firmly believe there is a direct correlation between the foods I eat and how my PN is feeling.

I really am not careful about what foods I eat; especially am into "sweets." Just probably in denial, but never put foods I eat as causing the extra daily burning; of feet and ankles. And for a better word I deal with "Kankles" as well.

You are giving me food for thought; (no pun intended).

No laser treatment for me. I confess wth all I have going in and the prohibitive cost, it has never really attracted me. I think wanna get feeling back may have been the one your thinking of. Will need to check back.
