[QUOTE=jannaw;590961]Montana is one of the states that allows medical marijuana use, I know about ten people that are using it, about half I would say are abusing it.

*** I hesitate to label anyone's use "abuse". Have I seen people who use far more than I do? Yes, of course. At another social event I attended, some guys were rolling cigar-size joints to pass around (of course, with my germ phobia, I never share a joint). My grower begins her day with vaping some and continues all through the day. Just because their use is more than mine, though, doesn't necessarily mean abuse.

*** Dependence and addiction is a problem with anything that alters your brain -- alcohol, tobacco and oxycontin are probably the most abused substances out there.

*** I agree with the general attitudes here: legalize and regulate. And, of course, tax it just like alcohol. Take it out of the shadows. MM will never replace my Lyrica because the purposes are different. Lyrica generally keeps my pain from going through the ceiling; MM helps to keep it relatively manageable.

*** I do have to say, though, that I wish I didn't have to use MM; the side effects (especially the "head" effects) are not my favorite parts of the day.

Oops, let me clarify my terminology here, I didn't mean that they were abusing marijuana, I meant they have no medical reason to have the medical marijuana card. I believe that it works for some and that it should be available for them everywhere!
I have a brother-in-law with a psychological addiction to weed, I've watched him in a state of "withdrawl" he became mean and surly, so much so that his ex-wife would make the rounds to find him some so her life would be bearable. Of course that was back in the day....and he had many other underlying issues....Still I'm not against it being legalized, its been a long time coming.

I have Primary Lateral Sclerosis which is a cousin to ALS..Massachusetts does not have MM but it is on the ballot for the Nov election. I was skeptical about MM until I have heard how it has helped a lot of patients with severe pain and Nausea. I do not smoke and would rather use Vaporizer if this law passes..How is it done with a vaporizer..

The guy I used to get mine from when I was drinking, was getting it from an MM dispensary in California. I smoked some once or twice after I put down the bottle and it seemed to help with the neuropathy some. The problem with me is that it makes me want to drink again, and I can't afford to cause any more damage to my feet. If I could find a way to smoke some without resorting to alcohol, I might be up for it, but for now, I'm on the copious amount of pills the doctors have given me.

Not that tough. Cloning itself is easy - just snip, use some clone gel, insert the cut in soil or grow medium, and be patient - takes wing in a couple days. And will be ready to flower in as little as a month. But having the rest of the garden - space, lights, water, time, money, and the book that tells you how - is a bit tougher. But do-able, I hear.

There is now clear evidence that cannabinoids are useful for the treatment of various medical conditions,” including chronic neuropathy (nerve pain), multiple sclerosis, HIV/AIDS, Gilles de la Tourette syndrome, and other indications.
