Hi
Aside from making me sleepy and feeling goofy, it did nothing for me. I take Cymbalta now, with much better results. Barb

I use Topical Magnesium Oil for this kind of pain. I used to take Neurontin but couldn't stand the side effects(reflux, brainfog, sd, etc). Mag oil helps with pain, increases cellular ATP energy and helps with nerve function. I also use Gotu Kola(stimulates Gaba-like Neurontin and Acetylcholine-nerve rebuilding). Albeit you have to play with the dose, of these things, but they are much better for you and don't have the sides.

I have taken Neurontin for over a year and most recently was up to 3600 mg a day. I thought that maybe the PN had gotten a lot worse and that's why it didn't seem to be helping even though I was taking a higher and higher dose. But I've now stepped down to 600 mg a day on my way to 0 so I can switch to Cymbalta. Can't say that I feel any different at all on this comparatively low dose so it seems that it wasn't helping me at all.
Barb, I hope I have the same experience that you've had with the Cymbalta. I'm timing it to start after Thanksgiving just in case it makes my head weird--don't want to think about what I might do to the turkey if my brain isn't working right. ![]() |
