Of course it never snows where I am at in the San Francisco Bay Area, but we have had some very frosty nights that have wracked havoc on some of my outdoor plants. Right now as I am typing this, we are building up to a fairly good rain storm and you can feel it in the air. Of course the pressure is kicking up my arthritis and neuropathy too...

Oh those huge low pressure systems are the worst. I ache for days as they approach and the day when the 'eye' is near....ugh.
I need to live in the desert....except most of my large brood is here, in the midwest and I can't afford a second home for the winter. Besides, I don't want to leave my docs. Ho, ho, ho, snow storms and tornadoes....love the midwest. Then again, CA has earthquakes...terrifying. |

No school for the kids tomorrow!
The only place i can think of that is pretty immune to almost all bad weather is southern new mexico and arizona. No earthquakes, no blizzards, no tornadoes, no hurricanes. They do get sandstorms but thats about it. |

I gotta say we've got about 20" before it 'settled' today in the sun.
Does anyone have reccomendations for snow blowers that are small and easy to use? I'm useless of late due to the past summer's events and my DH is gonna have a heart attack w/this stuff! It's a big time guilty moment as I'd always been manic until recently about getting snow/ice off the driveway and sidewalks asap. What's worse? It hurts me more that I really can't help. Sigh? or something: eek: We will survive! We have power and lots of milk and TP! What more can one ask for but for the fact the HO-HO-day isn't far away? Count our blessings in as many ways as we can. Even the little ones. 's to all for the holidays and keep faith and hope and pluck! - j |

it must have been a pleasant 75F degrees today, with blue skies and sun screen, so unfortunately I won't be able to contribute to the conversation when it comes to how much snow we've had merry Christmas

He dug out all the cars and my work truck, yesterday - but I slipped on the ice , walking around my truck this a.m. and fell down in front of my door, trying to get my key into the lock of the truck. (A 3 Stooges, or Laurel & Hardy scene, I'm sure ) When I finally got to work, there is a car in my loading zone and I had to park a block away. Someone was kind enough (I think it was my 70 y.o. neighbor, the Barbershop owner) to have shoveled a path around my shop and I had minimal shoveling to do. Then all I had to do was spread Halite salt on the walkway (I've got 80 lbs of it). So I'll just nurse my pulled muscles (could've been worse - thankfully just a few pulled muscles) from falling, and try to take it easy today. It's 11 a.m. and not a soul has come into my store, yet. I think its gonna be a slow day. Federal Offices, schools and state offices are either closed or on a delayed opening, here - today.
