Default The word "chronic" in NP

Hi,

When people define NP as a chronic pain, this means the pain is forver?

Does anyone knows anybody that has been cured from this pain? Does one can expect a cure or just a decrease of symptoms through time, in case its NP isn't associated with any chronic desiese?
