Default I have a question about honey!!!!

Now that Alan can't have all that pancake syrup (with the sorbitol, and the sodium, his ankles are just fine thank you very much), he, of course, still has the taste perversion thing (left over from when he was on the fentanyl pain patch.

Well, I have discovered something new!!! Did you know that you can put honey on just about anything and Alan will go nuts????

Now I'm not talking big heaping spoonsful here, I'm just drizzling here and there.
I put it in his muffins, on his carrots, in his veggies. The only place he doesn't have it is on his patatas and in his cup of tea.

But I do use it every day. Now here's my question. (And of course, I don't go near it, cause I'm a diabetic)

Is there anything toxic about giving this man honey? I mean, he's on plavix, aspirin, metoprolol, zoloft and god knows whatever else he's on.

I just drizzle it on his veggies and his blueberry muffins and of course it glazes the carrots. He loves everything much sweeter than a normal person and we don't use sugar in this house so I figured what the heck. Its not sorbitol, it has no sodium, I heard honey is a good healer....

So is there anything negative about me using it every day (drizzling it here and there) on his foods?. He weighs the same so he's not putting on any weight. He really enjoys whatever he is eating as long as I add a little honey to it.

I just buy the store brand Clover Honey. I know there are different types.
Is one type better for you than any other type?

Thanks to all the bakers out there who know lots of information on honey.

Melody

Talking honey is just fine...

in moderation. Some studies show it has anti-bacterial qualities as well.

Really heavy use however, is fructose, and can be hard on the liver.

But it is far better than that artificial stuff you have been using!
A little honey goes a long way.

And I use it in my tea...esp the yerba mate tea. But it is nice in other teas as well. I also have honey in my grits (when I have them). Sometimes when I want a dessert, and really can't have one, I have a little slurp of honey. It is very satisfying.

I am sure he will work it off at the gym.

Thanks Mrs. D.

As usual, you're a lifesaver.
