wHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN METHYL AND SUBLINGUAL B12?
i SEE ADDS FOR B12 AND THEY WILL HAVE BOTH WORDS ON THE SAME LINE FOR THE SAME BOTTLE. M ETHYL HAS BEEN GOING UP IN PRICE SINCE 2008. One vitamin store had the definition nearly the same for both kinds. George ![]() |

Hi George.
Methyl is used more now because it does not require activation by the body. It is ready to go. I have not seen a huge increase in price for this. this item seems stable in price so far to me: http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas...enges/129?at=0 Sublingual is not really needed. This product is also sublingual. But it has been found that high doses 1mg (1000mcg or higher) used orally and swallowed work just as well...as long as you take them on an empty stomach. Food interferes with passive absorption. I have a B12 thread on the stickies here, so take a look. It has details. It will be higher in stores compared to online places.

sublingual can be cyano- or methyl-, not sure about hydroxy-. for optimized absorbtion/use "we" usually suggest the methyl-. |
