Cymbalta was something I used a little over two years ago, I gave it a shot for 90 days at which time I'd lost 12lbs from nausea and vomiting....but went on to Lyrica, both drugs worked great by the way. However, Lyrica had me eating everything but the trim off the doors! Back to neurontin I went, works for the most part and the rest of the time I have my feet in an "ice bath" and use a dollar store product called artic ice that I found.
My biggest concern now is the cruise all the females in the family are going on next month, its a big ship and walking and I aren't that great of friends anymore. My daughter says bring your cane mom and it will get us through all the processes faster, so I guess I'll break down and take it along. I'm going no matter what and I'm not going to let this darn PN ruin a moment for me!

Jannaw,
Check to see if you can reserve an electric cart,
or a 'hoveround' maybe even rent onre to take with you.
They'll fit anywhere, and they have elevators on those cruise ships. You can leave it in the hall, if it won't fit in the cabin.
Just call ahead to the cruise line and tell them you need one, or are bringing one. It'll save walking and then when you get out of it in the hall, you can use your cane

Default Cymbalta update

So now I'm thinking that Cymbalta might really be helping. It hasn't made the pain go away completely, but I haven't had any really horrible days lately and I have had several exceptionally good ones. The neuro says that 90mg is the minimum dosage when using for PN. He said to bump it up 120mg. Is that alarming?

He was very supportive when I told him about the supplements I'm taking so at least he's not a butt-head. He's also pushing Capsaicin, which I said burned. But he got me to agree to hang in with it for two weeks to see if it gets better.

Joan I am on 120 of Cymbalta. I am not sure what you meant by alarming. I know I was told that many for pain are on this dose. Hope things continue to get better.

I just meant was 120mg an excessive dose? But you just answered my question--thanks.
