Hello, has anyone ever heard of the term "transitional neuropathy"? A specialist mentioned that this is what could be occuring with my feet at the moment - but did not bother to explain what it is. I asked my GP - he told me nothing - just shook his head as if it was something I didn't need to know...... perhaps he doesn't even know himself.... Any information greatfully appreciated.
Also, when muscles become "spastic" after some time with PN (while the PN itself is actually improving), can they return to normal in time?? Regards, Christine. |

Christine,
You sound concerned about the term "transitional neuropathy." A GP can't possibly know everything, and I think that's the case here so I wouldn't worry just because you didn't get an answer from the GP. Since you said your PN is improving, I would take the meaning of transitional in a good way. Have you thought of phoning your neuro's office for an explanation? I know they don't like a lot of questions unless you schedule a consult, but it's a simple question and, hopefully, it will ease your mind. |
