Also, try the Biofreeze sparingly. The bottoms of my feet can't stand it otherwise I love it for my lower back or if my calves ache.

PF can become really nasty, if you don't take care of it right away. I used to run marathons, and I did get PF on a couple of occasions. Arch support is very important. Do not get out of bed without your orthotic in a shoe. If you get out of bed and step, you will just re-tear that ligament and the process will continue to get worse. The ball rolling is excellent, and just taking it easy until healing begins.

Thanks all for the great advice. Your posts got me thinking and I checked again after I got up a little while ago, but my feet don't perspire so I don't think the splint heating up my foot would cause the burning. There is a wedge that allows for an incline and more stretch, and that is made from some sort of white material that also causes my feet to burn. Although the spilnt has this foam stuff on it, it doesn't make my feet hot and it seems like contact is the culprit while other times they just burn without touching anything. This condition is very strange.

Thanks SO much for posting those splints - I have club feet from my nerve damage, which cause problematic sleeping positions. My PT just told me to use my hard plastic AFO's to sleep in, which is impossible. Those looked soft and nicely padded, I will send the link to my PT. If I wear my plastic AFO's I get covered in bruises (I am on coumadin and pred which cause bruising) - honestly, I look like someone has given me a good kicking. Those soft padded one's look great. cheers raglet |
