Default Hope Earth Day went well for you!

I have been checking in and lurking, between my attempts at working my very mini-farm. Dirty fingernails and all. I have tuckered myself out now and I have a presentation on food preservation to do tomorrow. Of course, I procrastinated.

I am patiently awaiting the birth of my chicks, all 16 of them, and their names are picked out. Lars the rooster has a bevvy of 15 Scandinavian named chix, lol. OOO, I just had a contraction! False alarm....they are not due to peck their way out of the shell til May.

So, how bout that Eye-yah-fyah-yer-lak-kul, or whatever you call that lava bubbler? Any bets on Katla blowing? Owweeee....talk about buring feet!

Do NOT ask how I feel....I am trying really hard to deny it...besides, if I tell the truth I sound like an aged old Aunt with lace doilies all over the house, even on the extra TP roll.

On to Beltane and the next party.

Rrae, I didn't have much of a weekend. Spent most of it on my hands and knees helping my husband battle the chickweed invasion. We've never had it before, and can't imagine why we have it now.

Cy, I don't know how you do it. Here is my problem. I haven't been able to squat in years, and need something nearby when I pull myself up from the ground. I can crawl around on my hands and knees but need hubby to help me up. So, I can only assist with garden work, I can't do it independently.

I've considered one of these contraptions (Gardener's kneeling/sitting bench):

But I'm not sure if it would be sturdy enough, or high enough (19"), to be much help in pushing myself to a standing position. I use a cane, but have thought about a walker just for garden/yard work. Any suggestions?

CHICKweed invasion! OH Myyy! I hope they weren't armed! I think I've got an accurate visual on that one.....

But, yeah, the gardening thing.......I use one of those 'bleecher seats' that we take to the boy's baseball games. I can get UP from a sitting position, but there is NO way I could get around on my knees! Ouch!!

That contraption looks like a good idea tho!

I noticed your absence too, cy. Wasn't doing anything exciting, but there was yardwork. Good to see you peeking in!
