Default Has anyone been offered a lignocaine/lidoderm infusion for pain relief?

Hi everyone
I went to a Pain Management Clinic today and the anesthetist offered me a Lignocaine infusion for pain relief - I will need to visit hospital for a day and have this inserted by drip for 5 hrs and hopefully it will give 6 weeks of pain relief. He said sometimes after a series of this treatment the sodium pumps in the nerves settle down. Has anyone else had experience of this treatment?

The RSD forum has some patients who have had this. Works for some and not others:

If you post over there some will answer I am sure.

Mrs D or anyone I posted on the rsd post to this because I had the infusion. Anyhow I remember before I had it I searched on here and no one with PN seemed to have had it but people with rsd did. Yet my pain doc said that this infusion works better for PN pain vs RSD. Is he wrong or who really knows cause we all respond different?
Sorry for taking over your post. I hope you get relief.
