Well, people at work, remarked on my changed mental state (said I looked better)... And 3 of them
want to try the visor, or at least see it. So I am taking it in on Sunday. I won't be there much more, so it is sort of "now or never" for them. I got thru my work night with less fatigue/pain. So it is working. My driving was better too. It was such a slow decline, I could kick myself for letting it sneak up on me this way. I am sure now, that this job triggered it. So even tho I feel better, I have to let the job go (I might do a few weekends here or there), since it is so unhealthy at that place, as there are other stressors too to consider.

Mrs. D. About 20 years ago, Alan and I went to a health fair in New York City. We stopped at one of the booths and they had these glasses with green lights (at least I think they were green), I think they changed color.
You could change the intensity on them. Now I have absolutely no idea why they were invented, what they were supposed to do etc, after all I'm almost 60 and completely senile at times. But I will never forget what happened when I put the glasses on. You put them on for 5 minutes. I think I lasted 2 minutes. I DID NOT LIKE IT ONE BIT. I took them off and said out loud. This is not for me, no thank you. What on earth were these glasses supposed to do? I wish i could remember. Also, at the same health fair they had this table that, when you lay down flat on it, the table had a mechanism that rolled slowly up and down your back (really hard) giving you some kind of deep tissue massage. I did not know I had scoliosis at the time. Well, I got off that table so fast you would not believe it. From that time, I never liked anything going up and down my upper back. Maybe because it was too hard. Now, if I go for a pedicure, and I sit in their chairs, they know not to push a button which turns the back of the chair into the same kind of massage thing, that rolls up and down my back. I say "do not put this thing on, I can't stand it". Now you could put Alan on these tables and chairs and the man would be in heaven. Me, don't come near me with anything that rolls up and down my back. I have no idea why I didn't like the glasses (they gave me a headache, that much I remember), they hurt my eyes, (that I do remember). Maybe I didn't do it right, and perhaps 20 years later, they have improved on the technique?????? Melody

There is another kind of "light" therapy... It has to do with color.
Chiros typically use that type. I have heard of this, but don't know much about it: http://www.colourtherapyhealing.com/ These SAD light visors were designed to provide light in the proper wavelength, and with NO UV...and at certain strength (LUX) to stimulate the receptors in the retina for melatonin. This resets your biological clock. The one I have was made by Physician Engineered Products (designed by doctors). You know I used to use BlueBlocker sunglasses.. they turn everything orange. Now those were weird, but they really helped with glare, and they sharpened images while driving. Really nearsighted people, like having the blue removed. Now I use Eagle Eyes type, and the color distortion is less. I have to drive ALOT...so I don't like arriving at work, to a visual task job, tired already! I have not had any problems with the weird green, since the first day. The first day was a "shock" I have to admit. Also I bumped up my B-complex to 100mg 3 times a week, in addition to my P-5-P once a day. You need the B's for making neurotransmitters, esp B6. This I am sure is helping with rapid responses. Perhaps it would be slower without the vitamins. (there is no mention of vitamin support in the directions---I thought that up myself). The green does set off a complimentary pink reaction, so when wearing the visor, white fields look pinkish. But you know, the 1/2 hr goes by really quickly...I just log on here, and poof...they shut off in no time! The horrible stiff neck/upper back I was having, seems to be melting away as well...this low grade pain was very wearing for me..and discouraging. This being old all of a sudden is a bummer... truly a bummer! ![]() At least my sense of humor is returning! ![]() And my husband OFFERED to come with me shopping and then go to a nice gourmet lunch too...how rare is that? Help me shop? ![]()

I thought I put the link on here?
![]() Maybe it is on the depression forum? Anyway, I don't see any harm in putting it here... http://www.feelbrightlight.com/Feel_...ight.48.0.html It has a 30 day no questions asked guarantee which I saw on a forum that a fellow posted that he used. You can send it back. This and the Apollo lights were the most favorable, with positive responses, in my searches. I was using the B-complex anyway...so I know that wasn't the main factor. Only I am not sure the speed of my response is not totally due to the combined vitamin use. I have a B-100 I got at Puritan's a short time ago...it was a nice formula ( and not expensive) but rather strong for me. So I don't use it everyday. Right now, it is the pain relief that is surprising for me. You know it is frightfully cold, here, and dark most of the day. This is really bad for pain issues. I've had a low grade headache and neck ache for a month now.... blech blech. The visor does turn you green however..but for 1/2 hr a day...who cares? (my husband got a kick out of teasing me about this) LOL I am doing it first thing in the morning. But if you consult the Apollo site I put up here earlier there are "tests" to take to determine your problems. I can't vouch for them, however. I read about the visors in this book --Beyond Prozac by Dr. Michael Norden MD This book had a whole chapter on light therapy. I picked it up last spring at a library book sale for a whopping 50 cents ![]() There are other very good ideas in that book as well, if you want to buy if off Amazon...lots of used book sellers there.-- I can't recommend it enough. I am very leary of anti-depressant drugs...I know too much, I guess about them. I have seen years of consequences regarding them..etc., sadly.
