I hope to do a post on the basis of electro stimulation and both animal and clinical research.

I think we should always be very skeptical of self advertising websites.

They may really be convinced and sincerely believe they have the best thing since sliced bread. If so, they will tend to dismiss as irrelevent, or not even consciously see the cases that aren't helped or are harmed by their product.

They may be lying through their teeth. If so, they will cynically not report the cases that aren't helped or are harmed by their product, and will exagerate good results. Those pictures could be digitally altered. That's why we need double blind or clinical studies by disinterested researchers.

Hi everyone,
I have been getting the MicroVas treatments twice a week for the past two weeks now. I have arthritis in my feet and have had several surgeries including ankle fusions in both feet, sub-talor fusions in both feet and many more....in both feet...lol. I was born with clubbed feet due to a rare condition called Mobius Syndrome (neurological disorder, only 2,000 cases in the world.) Anyway, I noticed a marked improvemnet in my arthritis pain THE FIRST DAY. I've also used a TENS unit in the past which worked but not as much as the MicroVas. The best part is that Medicare does pay for it. The only thing it doesn't cover are the pads, 6 total, which ran $47. They are reused throughout the treatment which last 8 weeks.

I highly, highly, highly recommend trying this. It is totally worth it. I alsohave spinal stenosis in my L3&4 and would love if my Pain Management doc would get this unit. For now, I just use the TENS that I have on my back when the pain gets really bad.

The treatments are just like the feeling you experience with a TENS except that the "shock" alternates, on-off, on-off. They last 45 minutes. It's pretty painless.

Anyway, like I said, I recommend this treatment if your doctor offers it to you.

I hope this helps.

I live near the HQ of MicroVas (Tulsa, OK). The owner Wayne Buchner spoke at one of our neuropathy group's meetings. He made some claims about the system that I think were sensational and overstated, for example "will absolutely reverse neuropathy" etc. I later called him and asked several questions about the system. I asked him several times the difference between MicroVas and TENS and he did not give me a satisfactory answer. Anyway I tried the treatment and it did not help me significantly. But that doesn't mean it won't help you. I say it's worth a try.

They put some large sticky pads on my feet and other parts of my body, usually four pads at a time. An electric current is passed between pairs of pads, for example on opposite sides of the foot, so the current goes deep into the tissue. I could feel the current but it was not painful. It was sometimes painful when they removed the pads, especially from hairy areas (legs).

Here are my complete notes on the treatment if you are interested:

Jan. 26, 2009 - First visit to Dr. Jack Brown and first MicroVas treatment. Dr. Brown told me the same as other drs--We have no cure for this, the best we can do is improve your quality of life. He gave me a prescription for Tramadol 50 mg and said to take 1-2 per day. Also gave me samples of Metanx, a "medicinal food" as it says on the label. It is a mix of vitamins & supplements. I don't plan to start these until I see the results of the MicroVas. After the first MicroVas treatment, I believe my right foot felt better for two hours or so, then was back to normal.
I was treated with MicroVas 5 times by Trish at Dr. Jack Brown's office in Sand Springs (Sand Springs Medical Associates). Treatments were 1/26, 1/29, 2/2, 2/4, 2/5. The only improvement I ever felt was for maybe 2 hours after the first treatment my feet felt a little better. Otherwise no improvement, possibly a little worse at times. The strength of the treatment felt fairly strong. Dr. Brown thought I should have seen improvement after 5 treatments if I was going to. He suggested accupuncture & gave me a card for someone. He suggested one other course of treatment but I can't remember and can't find my notes, may find them later, I'm pretty sure they were in a small notebook.
