Hi I am new to this. I had cervical cord decompression and 5-7 fusion around 2 months ago. I dont have much neck pain(bearable) but much stinging in the back of head, pulling in jaw then ears buzz, eyesight blurs on and off, head pains and weird sounds which have gotten better, headache on and off, dizzy, and some spaciness if I look down too long at computer. I also learned this week there are still spurs on cord and it is extremely narrow yet. Surgeon says all this is unrelated see you in 4 months. So scared. Does anyone know an excellent neurosurgeon from chicago area

Hi,
This might not be of any help because I don't know of any excellent neurosurgeons in the Chicago area - but do know of one at Johns Hopkins. His name is Benjamin Carson, and he's world renowned. If Johns Hopkins is an impossibility for you, then might there be a first-class Department of Neurology/Neurosurgery in your area at one of the university schools of medicine through faculty practice? Would the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota be close enough for you? Hope you find an excellent surgeon who can get a handle on all your problems. Were all of your current symptoms most or all post-op onset? Best wishes, Sheltiemom |
