Everyone I know who've had hip replacements say: Why did I wait so long!?

Best wishes, always.

i'm praying for you brian.

be sure to tell the dr's or nurses if you are using the nicotine patches or gum.

when you get back online, we need to start a thread for your journey of quiting smoking.

take care hon, we will all be thinking of you.

Thank you Curious, I am over whelmed with the support that all the good folk here have given me, its been unreal, there isn't a word in the dictionary to express how i really feel.
I will let the hospital staff know about the nicotine patches and i will start that smoking thread as well.
thank you very much
Brian

Default Brian, after reading all 'round....

re anathesiology and those of us w/PN...well I made it CLEAR in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS to the Surgeon that HE had to find ME someone who HAD AT LEAST A CLUE...Durn gummint She DID. and a bang up one to boot.. Outlined my fears just pre op no less.. said I'd CIDP, a GBS kind of Auto-I thing sorta-like MS and such folks tend to come out WORSE from anathesia w/o precautions...She got IT and did IT all. I made a point to get her name and give brownie points where due to the surgeon.... OF course for about 2 days was groggier than H****!!!!! [Hesperus orthe like?] But, once stuff cleared from system [drink more than HEAPS of water!] Pretty good to go!?

I do believe the Best words were: DEMEYELINATING, only at the ending nerves, rather than the Brain nerves.. Once they got THAT connection, rest was easy? for them....

'and the wheels, they go round and round, on the carousel of life.... We go we rotate, we will SUCCEED. Got not choice!

For the Meantime: Exercise like crazy....You are gonna need those Other muscles to help compensate while the surged ones heal. SOOO WORK IT OUT!

Super good thoughts for now later and then, after! - j

Thanks Dahlek, they know all about the PN, the amount of questions and physical checking was unbelievable, it was 4 solid hours of differant types of doctors, one after another checking me out and each one had at least 4 pages each of just questions regarding my health, i was totally warn out by the end of the afternoon.
I also seen a physio that afternoon that has givem me exercises to do prior to the op, and i believe they get you up and walking the very next day.
I am getting a spine block because of previous problems with general anas',
so i will be wide awake right through the op, which doesn't bother me in the least because i have seen a THR performed on the net.
Once again thanks,
Brian

Thank you Rose, I am pretty sure that if i had still been insured it would have been well done by now, but our public health system over here isn't the greatest right now, i did have the option to pay for it myself, but i reckon $26,000 is better in my bank than theirs.
thanks again
Brian
