Has anyone been to Barrow in Phoenix? I wrote a letter to the president of my healthplan complaining about the denial of a CT scan that I need for work-up of my suspected paraneoplastic syndrome. He actually called me and said that the CT was not denied; they just never got information requested from my rheumy's office. To "restore confidence" in the healthplan and "make things right" he's going to call my doc and get the information requested in order to get the ball rolling. He also offered to expedite a referral to Barrow, which is where they send difficult neuro cases. Just wondering if anyone has any experience there.
Thanks! Athena |

Athena, I have been to Barrows several times. They are very knowledgeable but it's important that you see a neurologist that specializes In whatever issues you are having. It's a group of doctors and some are much better than others. I'm not sure who is there for PN now. I went for my spine. |
