Lots of good info.
And for good measure, make sure you are getting lots of B12. Tinnitis was one of the latest problems I developed (and one of the first to go after getting treatment), and some one of the other collections of problems suggested TOS. rose

I had a doctor appt tonight. My regular doc is on vacation so I saw another. She suggests first that we do a nerve conduction test, which is scheduled for Friday morning. The tinnitus, she agrees with the doc I work for, that winter is the worst time for tinnitus and then she gave me a prescription for Zyrtec, saying that maybe there is fluid in my ear. I feel like I got no where, I guess we will see what happens with the nerve conduction test. I did have blood drawn for a cholesterol test and thyroid.
By the way Steve, I live in an apartment and can't afford to take out a mortgage for the above listing of yours!!!!! ![]() Rose, I take 2400mcg of B12 daily and a B Complex, along with a multiple vitamin and 400mcg of Folic Acid. Am I on the right track? Last edited by darlindeb25; 03-01-2007 at 06:18 AM. Reason: forgot something |

darlindeb,
I am glad they ordered a nerve conduction test. ![]() ![]() I want to add too that since my last fusion, C5/C6 I had been having spasms or pain in my upper back, shoulders, arms, hands, etc. And I saw my Neurosurgeon on Monday, and the VERY FIRST thing he did was to order a second MRI. I have looked at it and see nothing wrong that I can tell. So, he suspects the spasms are clamping down so hard that they are irritating the nerves OUTSIDE of the spine. But I don't see him again until March 13th. |

Hi Everyone,
I know it might sound a crazy thing to say but I am so pleased to find there are others suffering the same as me. I of course would not wish this on anyone. I live in England and this type of thing is not really regonised over here; ther isn't even anything on the N.H.S. website. I had disc replacement a few months ago and am now getting headaches nearly everly day ,neck pain, and a real unsteadiness when I am walking. I am getting real problems getting any help for this. So I wondered if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks everyone. |

I found this thread while trying to determine if my current problem of increasing hearing loss could be related to my cervical spine issues. I don't want to hijack this thread, but I can't find the New Thread link. I do have permission to start new threads, so I don't get it. Can anyone clue me in? Thank you!

Yes, you can start new threads anytime, anywhere here.
You might also look into Arnold Chiari forum, as ear issues sometimes are connected to that. When I was hypothyroid, I had some loss and it returned to almost normal with fixing it with levothyroxine.

Hi Jesse,
![]() The New Thread button is by itself, left side, just above the "Sticky" threads and below the Tips, Supplements, etc. sub-forum. HTH, Doc

I have had loud ringing in both ears for about 15 years, accompanied by severe stiffness in the back of the neck and both sides of the neck. I can barely turn my head. The ringing rises markedly in pitch and intensity if I jut my lower jaw forward. If I push the tip of my tongue towards the back/right of my mouth I get the same result, but not if I direct the tongue to the left. When looking upward I tend to lose my balance and become dizzy. The tinnitus has been getting louder year after year, to the point where it is almost driving me nuts. I have an appointment for 5 successive treatments over the course of 5 weeks with a noted osteopath. At our first meeting I intend to mention cervicogenic tinnitus, occipital neuralgia and C3/C4 facet joints in the hope that the ensuing discussion will reveal the most promising course of action. Since I have already been diagnosed with arthritis in the upper spine, perhaps fusion is the most logical altlernative, though I would prefer to avoid surgery as much as possible. I shall keep you posted.
