Default NPR segment on coping with chronic pain

This is the header and blurb for the segment. Click on the link to listen. I'd take the course if it were offered in San Diego. I'll make enquires and see if there is comparable nation or world wide.

Mindfulness Course a Hit for Pain Management

Mindfulness is easier said than done. For those looking for an eight-week introduction to the basic concepts, one course developed nearly three decades ago has become a hit in hospitals and clinics as a way to manage pain and the stress that goes with it.

There is a good book on mindfullness and pain managment. It is by Jon Kabat - Zinn and called "Full Catasrophe Living How to Cope With Stress, Pain and illness Using Mindfulness Meditation". I think that there are CDs with training session available to teach you how to use this technique.
