Thanks for your input......I think Zocor could be my problem as well. Have you heard of any others complaining of back pain from Zocor?

arent there warnings now on statins that if muscle pain occurs to discontinue use?

The large muscles of the back and legs are most often the first with symptoms.

I would get a CPK test to see if your muscle enzymes are elevated.

Statins affect mitochondria, so that energy production in the cells becomes impaired and damaged.

If you develop ANY darkening of the urine... get to a doctor or ER ASAP.

Hi Janet,

How long have you been on the Zocor? Has your doctor increased your dose recently. When have you had your last liver function tests? Please call your doctor before discontinuing your medication.

Rhonda,
I am in contact with my doc, I am just going to lower my dose and see if that helps. He is doing all the blood tests needed to keep an eye on any adverse effects of Zocor.
